UXR Brand and Usage Guidelines

Purpose

These guidelines help readers distinguish official User Experience Reform work from independent discussion, adaptation, criticism, or commercial services.

UXR is intended to be studied, criticized, taught, cited, and applied. That openness does not authorize others to imply that their project, score, audit, certification, or commercial offering is official UXR.

Permitted descriptions

Appropriate uses include:

• “an analysis informed by User Experience Reform principles”;
• “a project that references the public UXR framework”;
• “independent research applying concepts described by UXR”;
• “a critique of User Experience Reform”;
• accurate quotations and citations with attribution to Sean Arenas and the canonical UXR source.

Uses that require explicit authorization

Do not use the UXR name, initials, marks, or future certification language to imply that a person, organization, service, assessment, or publication is:

• officially operated by UXR;
• approved, accredited, licensed, certified, or endorsed by UXR;
• authorized to issue UXR scores, Blue Scores, Blue Zone designations, seals, ratings, or compliance findings;
• authorized to speak for the UXR framework or alter its constitutional standards;
• part of an official registry, council, research program, or consulting network unless the canonical registry confirms that status.

Naming derivative work

An independent derivative or localized project should use its own distinct primary name. It may accurately state that it is “based on,” “informed by,” or “in dialogue with” UXR, provided the statement includes clear attribution and no implication of official status.

A derivative project should not use UXR, User Experience Reform, Official UXR, UXR Certified, UXR Compliant, Blue Zone Certified, or a confusingly similar term as its primary brand without written authorization.

Constitutional integrity

A project that removes or reverses UXR's core safeguards, such as the One-Way Authority Rule, evidence independence, causal humility, public traceability, or prohibition on purchased scoring influence, must not represent itself as the official continuation of UXR.

Commercial services

No current public license authorizes commercial entities to sell official UXR audits, compliance services, accreditation, certification, or score improvement under the UXR name.

Independent consultants may discuss UXR or help organizations improve human experience, but they must describe their work accurately and avoid implying official authorization.

Future official registry

UXR plans to maintain a public registry of future authorized projects, assessors, pilots, certifications, and institutional relationships. Until that registry exists and lists an entity, no claim of official status should be assumed.

Reporting confusing use

As the project develops, UXR intends to provide a contact path for reporting false certification claims, copied materials, misleading branding, or unauthorized assertions of official partnership.
