The original UXR written documentation, framework architecture, taxonomy, methodology, governance design, case structure, explanatory text, and original compilations are protected works to the extent provided by applicable law.
Authorship and attribution
User Experience Reform was conceived and created by Sean Arenas. When quoting, discussing, teaching, reviewing, or citing UXR, identify the project as User Experience Reform (UXR) and attribute the work to Sean Arenas.
A suggested attribution is:

Permitted public uses
UXR welcomes good-faith public discussion. Without additional permission, readers may:
- link to official UXR pages;
- cite UXR in journalism, research, criticism, commentary, education, and public-interest discussion;
- quote limited portions with clear attribution and sufficient context;
- describe or evaluate UXR concepts in their own words;
- apply publicly described UXR ideas to independent analysis, provided the resulting work does not claim official UXR authorization, scoring, certification, or governance status.
Uses requiring permission
Unless another license is later published, permission is required to:
- reproduce substantial portions of UXR documentation;
- republish complete documents or compilations;
- sell copied or lightly modified UXR materials;
- release altered documents as official UXR standards;
- use UXR branding to imply partnership, endorsement, certification, accreditation, or authorization;
- operate a commercial service under the UXR name or issue purported UXR scores, audits, seals, or certifications.
Ideas, expression, and official identity
Copyright does not create ownership over every general idea discussed by UXR. It protects original expression and compilations, while trademark, certification, contract, unfair-competition, and other laws may protect names, marks, official identity, and representations of authorization.
UXR therefore distinguishes between:
- public discussion and independent application, which the project encourages;
- copying UXR's protected expression, which may require permission;
- claiming official UXR status, which requires explicit authorization and an operational standard that currently does not yet exist.
No current public certification license
UXR does not currently operate Blue Scores, Blue Zone certification, accredited audits, or an authorized assessor registry. No person or organization may truthfully claim current official UXR certification or authorization.
Future licensing
UXR is evaluating whether some documents or tools should later receive standardized public licenses. No Creative Commons or open-source license should be inferred unless a specific work expressly displays one.
Legal limitation
This notice documents the project's current attribution and reuse policy. It does not replace formal copyright registration, trademark registration, certification-mark registration, contracts, or advice from qualified intellectual-property counsel.
