San Juan Animal League - Emergency Financial Assistance
Help paying a vet bill
Partial payment toward emergency vet care for traumatic or acute life-threatening problems (e.g., hit by car, shot) at an SJAL partner vet; not for chronic illness, parvo, dental, vaccines and similar. A separate O'Hearn Fund gives one-time grants of up to $300, paid to the vet, to people who take in stray or abandoned animals.

Programs like this usually have rules about income, location, the kind of care covered and how much they can pay. Many pay the veterinarian directly. Read the requirements before applying, and have your estimate and proof of income ready.
If cost is the barrier, Paying for Care compares grants, payment plans and fundraising, with a checklist of what to have ready.
