Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the parties start a week early. Here is every Halloween night in the Minty directory from Friday, October 23 through Día de los Muertos on Saturday, November 7, in date order, with times, addresses, cover and who is playing. Your regular nights, Halloween weekend

Not every great Halloween night is a special event. Plenty of regulars will be in costume at their usual spot.

• La Puente Live, Fridays 6 to 10 PM: the free open-air farmers market at 15900 Central Ave, La Puente has a live band every week: Smooth Touch on October 23 and Rhythm Jukeboxx at 7:15 PM on October 30. Free entry and free parking, and the kids can wear their costumes.
• Covina, Friday, October 30: DJ Killah Noez at Elvie's Inn from 9 PM, Helen's Friday karaoke at Grand Inn Bar & Grill and Brick House Karaoke at Mauricios, both at 8 PM.
• Covina, Saturday, October 31: Brick House Karaoke is back at Mauricios at 8 PM on Halloween night itself.
