Introducing Minty Press: The Official Home for Real Releases and Culture

What is Minty Press?

Minty Press is the newly founded editorial home for the Minty Universe, a place built for real stories, real releases, and real culture. It exists because we needed a space that wasn’t satire like The Mint, but still felt connected to the world we’ve created. Minty Press is where the real work happens.

·       Product drops and announcements. Minty Press is the official home for launch posts, especially when a new design hits Minty Tees, including collaborations like Metal Babe Mayhem.

·       Exclusive releases and behind-the-scenes features. Readers get the context, the culture, and the story behind each release, from concept to final drop.

·       Artist spotlights and contributor stories. The site highlights the creators who shape the Minty Universe, with interviews, companion articles, intros, and features that can connect back to contributors’ own platforms.

·       A shared editorial space for real culture. Minty Press documents what’s happening now, giving the community a newsroom where announcements feel official and the creative ecosystem can grow.

Minty Press was created to support everything that lives at the intersection of creativity, music, and merch. It’s also a place for writers and creators to meet, a shared editorial space where contributors can publish companion pieces that expand the universe while staying grounded in the real world. Alison “Metal Babe” Cohen, with her long history as a rock journalist, fits naturally into this environment. Her voice, her experience, and her passion for the music community help shape the tone of Minty Press, giving it authenticity and heart.

About Sean

My own journey has always revolved around sound and performance. In the 1980s I cut my teeth as a DJ, spinning records at events and private parties when hip-hop and electronic dance music were still underground. After years behind the turntables I turned to live music photography, shooting bands and festivals from 2004 through 2012. I also spent 2003–2012 performing in two bands, gaining the perspective of both artist and documentarian. From 2013–2019 I hosted weekly karaoke nights, bringing communities together through songs and stage lights.

Those experiences taught me how vital music culture is to people’s lives and how powerful a single performance can be in shaping memories. They also inspired me to start a business that celebrates individuality and creativity, Minty Tees, which still keeps me connected to the musicians, DJs, KJs, and fans who inspire our designs.

About Minty Tees

Minty Tees isn’t just a custom-garment business. It’s a hub for creativity rooted in music and California culture. Since launching in 2013, we’ve built a reputation for direct-to-film (DTF) printing and a full suite of customization services, including embroidery and vinyl cutting. Our workshop in Covina has shipped custom orders around the world. You can even design your own tee and we’ll print it for you. Whether you’re outfitting a company picnic or crafting a matching mommy-and-me set, Minty Tees has you covered.

Join the Conversation

At its core, Minty Press exists because this universe needed a newsroom, a place where announcements feel official, where culture is documented, and where the creative ecosystem can grow. It’s the bridge between the stories and the real-world creators who collaborate with it. Whether you’re here for the drops, the music, or the stories behind it all, you’re invited to be part of what we’re building.
