Story updated:
R&G Electric has been a Minty Tees client since July 2025. These photos show custom R&G Electric branded hats made for owner Richard Rubalcava.
The Business Behind the Logo
R&G is a La Puente electrical service business, but the name is personal: R stands for Richard and G stands for Giovanni, Richard’s only son, who now works with him.
Richard is a Los Angeles Trade-Technical College graduate from the Class of 1984 and says he has been in the electrical trade for 42 years. He spent much of that career working for the State of California in correctional facilities while also fitting private electrical jobs around late-night and weekend emergency calls. He retired from State service in 2020 and now runs R&G full time.
His favorite work is difficult troubleshooting, especially the calls where the answer is not immediately obvious. Installations and electrical panel upgrades are also core specialties.
Why This Project Matters
The hats are a straightforward branding job, but they now connect to a much bigger client story. The logo on the front represents a father-and-son business built on Richard’s decades in the trade and the career path he began at Trade Tech in 1984.
That is why this project page now links directly to the business record and the longer story instead of functioning as an isolated photo album.
