⭐ Hotels.com Review: Hotel California

Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Reviewer: Tired Traveler Who Definitely Didn’t Read the Fine Print

Pros:

• Check‑in was surprisingly easy. Suspiciously easy, actually.
• Complimentary wine in the lobby — generous pours, enthusiastic staff.
• The décor is vintage desert‑gothic with a “we’ve seen some things” charm.
• Housekeeping is very attentive. Like… always around. Even when you don’t remember calling them.

Cons:

• The night shift concierge speaks in riddles and stares directly into your soul.
• Hallways seem to rearrange themselves. Could be a feature, could be a curse.
• The mirrors whisper. Not metaphorically.
• Checkout policy is… restrictive. Let’s just say the front desk has a strong retention strategy.

Overall:
A beautiful, atmospheric hotel perfect for travelers who enjoy mystery, ambiance, and the subtle sense that time has stopped and you may never escape.
Would not recommend for business trips or anyone with a strong desire to leave on schedule.
