Review: Jack Rabbit Slim’s (Los Angeles, CA)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)

The Good:
Finally, a place in this city that actually understands the concept of "showmanship." Most restaurants are just rooms where people chew; Slim’s is a time capsule with a high-octane soundtrack. The "Martin and Lewis" shake is a five-dollar masterpiece. I don't care what my date says about the price point—you can’t put a tag on that kind of creamy, vanilla perfection. Also, the dance floor is the only place in LA where you can truly let loose without some talent agent trying to hand you a headshot.

The Bad:
The seating is a bit... automotive. I love a good 1950s Chrysler as much as the next girl, but trying to have a "comfortable" conversation while perched on a vinyl bench shaped like a tailfin is a challenge for the lower back. Also, the "Durward Kirby" burger was a bit over-seasoned. I’m here for the atmosphere and the adrenaline, not a sodium-induced coma.

The Service:
Our waiter, Buddy Holly, was a bit of a grouch. I think he’s still bitter about the plane crash or something. He didn't even crack a smile when we won the trophy. Some people just don't have the spirit for the twist.

Comments:
@Vincent_V: It was a "pretty good" shake, Mia. I’m just saying, for five dollars, I expect a cherry on top that’s been blessed by a priest.
@Marsellus_W: I hope that trophy is sitting on the mantle, Mia. I’d hate to think I paid for a night of "mediocre" burgers for nothing.
@Ed_Sullivan_Official: I really enjoyed the energy during the contest! A bit more hip-action from the tall guy next time, please.
@Buddy_H_Waiter: I’m not a grouch, I’m a professional. You try carrying a tray of five-dollar shakes while wearing these glasses.
