User Experience Reform, or UXR, examines every kind of human-made system, not only software, websites, apps, or machine interfaces.

Its scope includes systems of care and support, education and employment, commerce and transportation, government and law, physical environments, digital platforms, and automated decision-making.

Life does not have to stay harder than it needs to be.

Universal scope is an obligation to remain open, not a claim of complete knowledge.

You Do Not Have to Recognize the Burden the Same Way Someone Else Does

You may be the person who spends hours fighting for correction. You may be the person who accepts the first answer because challenging it seems exhausting or pointless. You may not discover that the system failed until much later. You may carry the work for someone else.

UXR treats each of those experiences as a reason to examine the system.

Recognition is not automatic adjudication. UXR can take a burden seriously while still testing what the evidence establishes about facts, cause, intent, responsibility, and harm.

A system can waste time without creating anger. It can reduce agency without producing a complaint. It can hide a lost outcome behind ordinary acceptance.

Silence is ambiguous evidence. Low complaint volume does not prove satisfaction, and it does not by itself prove resignation, fear, or burden avoidance.

What UXR Is

UXR combines several connected forms of work:

  • a developing public framework;
  • a method for measuring costs to human life;
  • a body of research and terminology;
  • a future accountability and decision-support system;
  • an organization under construction;
  • a movement built around the belief that people can improve the systems people create.

What UXR Examines

UXR asks what people and institutions must spend, endure, surrender, or risk in order to reach a legitimate objective.

  • time, effort, and unpaid administrative labor;
  • attention, understanding, and repeated coordination;
  • dignity, control, access, and practical agency;
  • health, safety, opportunity, and recovery;
  • costs transferred downstream;
  • costs multiplied through shared inefficiency;
  • human capacity returned through verified reform.

UXR Is Also Science

UXR begins with observation rather than accusation. It asks what happened, what can be measured, what explanation the evidence supports, and what remains uncertain.

  1. Observation: What objective was the person pursuing? What occurred? What measurable cost or outcome followed?
  2. Explanation: Which parts of the system contributed? What mechanisms, incentives, or policies matter? What remains uncertain?
  3. Evaluation: Was the burden necessary or proportionate? Was it fairly distributed and open to correction?

This is UXR's core analytical sequence, not its complete future lifecycle.

UXR is scientific in method and ambition, but it is not yet a completed scientific instrument. Its measurements, baselines, weights, and Blue Score methods remain under development and must be tested publicly.
