AVMF REACH Program
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s REACH program helps veterinarians provide charitable care for animals whose owners face financial hardship.
Start with your clinic: Pet owners cannot apply directly. Ask whether an AVMA member veterinarian at the practice can consider REACH when discussing help with your pet’s care.
How this route works
An eligible staff veterinarian applies for reimbursement after providing care for an illness or condition requiring immediate attention. Treatment must have occurred within the previous two months. Estimates are not accepted; routine preventive care and elective procedures are excluded.
Current limits include up to $1,000 per eligible veterinarian per calendar year and up to $5,000 per clinic address. These are program limits, not a promised amount for your pet. Limited funds may lead to partial awards or denials.
