Seizmic: A Covina Company and Five Years of Local Workwear
Sean ArenasShare
Some customer relationships become a familiar part of the working week. A text arrives, another batch of garments comes in, and there is already a shared understanding of how to get the job done.
For at least five years, Seizmic has been that kind of customer at Minty Tees. They are close by in Covina, but the relationship means more to me than the convenience of being neighbors. It has grown through repeat orders, clear communication, and a point of contact who is a pleasure to work with.
A Covina Company Supporting Work Across the Country
Founded by Sal E. Fateen in 1985, Seizmic serves the material handling industry. That means helping the manufacturers, distributors, and businesses behind the systems used to store and move goods.
Their services bring together structural engineering, permit management, custom fabrication, and inspections. Their engineering work includes equipment analysis, connection details, and layout drawings, and the company reports engineering licenses in all 50 states.
For a business planning a warehouse or material handling project, having those services connected can help with the handoffs between design, permitting, fabrication, and installation. Seizmic also offers Seizmic24, an online tool for preliminary analysis.
You can learn more about their capabilities on Seizmic’s official website.
The Workwear Behind Our Relationship
The garments they bring me are usually workwear: bright shirts, safety vests, welding jackets, and other pieces that need their company graphics. An order might be five or ten garments. Another might be thirty or fifty. When more than a hundred are coming, they often give me advance notice so I can prepare.
I have just finished pressing an order of more than 125 bright orange shirts, divided among three different company logos. Different shirts get different graphics, so keeping the instructions and artwork organized matters.
I keep their finalized logos together in one Adobe Illustrator file. That gives us a consistent starting point each time another order comes through.
A Routine That Fits Savannah’s Day
Savannah sends me a text explaining which logo belongs on which garments. She can hand them to me directly or leave them in my designated drop-off cabinet when I am away.
The same cabinet makes completed-order pickup possible around the clock. She might collect an order on her way to work, drop off blanks on her way home, or come by during the day. The handoff fits the time that works for her.
That flexibility is part of my normal business model, and a nearby customer who regularly supplies their own garments can make good use of it.
The Garment Determines the Print Size
A safety vest is not a blank rectangle. One model might offer only seven or eight inches of usable space, while another gives me twelve. A pocket might fit a three-inch graphic but be too small for a four-inch print.
I measure the available area on the actual garments and size the artwork accordingly. Before printing, I text Savannah a picture of the logos to confirm that I have interpreted her instructions correctly. Once she gives me the go-ahead, I print the graphics and press them onto the garments.
When the work is ready, I send the invoice by text. They pay, and Savannah picks up the finished order at a convenient time.

The Person Who Makes It a Pleasure
Savannah is one of the nicest human beings I have had the pleasure of working with. She makes coordinating these orders a treat.
Five years of returning business tells me that the arrangement works for them. Her referrals mean something more personal: she has trusted me enough to recommend my work to other people. That is meaningful, and it is touching.
I am grateful for the orders, but I am also grateful for the relationship. Seizmic has become one of those local customers who make running a small business feel connected to the people and companies around me.
